Consilium | Beer Review

Pale Ale – Renegade Brewing Company

I have yet to visit Renegade’s taproom, but having seen several of their delicious looking beers at the store, I decided it was high time to try one. I picked their Consilium Pale Ale flavored with orange peel. It was originally brewed as a small batch, but was so popular it was added to their year round line up.

Tag line – Offensively Delicious – but is it true?

Visual: Deep gold with a nice white head.

Aroma: Sweet, clean citrus.

Taste: Smooth citrus flavor with a little bit of a hoppy secondary taste. Orange flavor enhances but doesn’t overwhelm the beer, while the added lactose creates the smooth finish. It’s truly an enjoyable session beer.

ABV: 5%

Overall Beer Rating:     9 out of 10 spades
