Location: RiNo (River North – Denver)
The Scene: If you aren’t looking for it as you drive down Blake, you might not see the brewery pushed back a bit from the main road. It’s almost like walking into a secret beer garden, at night with the patio lit up that vibe is kicked up. Inside the space is open, modern and you can feel the creativity from the murals on the wall to the beer list. It was a younger crowd but then again this was a Wednesday night. It was quiet when we got there but multiple beer tours running through provided moments of fun craziness.
The Beer List: This should say beer lists. Beryl’s specializes in barrel-aged beer but fear not my non-barrel drinking friends they have a second menu that will fit your palate. Within each menu there was also variety; from a bourbon barrel aged Baltic Porter to Dampfbeir in wine barrles and on the other side you could find a Sour, a Dunkel and an Extra IPA
The Best: This is hard for me, I really enjoyed a good majority of their beers but I walked away singing the praises of the RiNo Cluster Fuggle. Great name, even better beer – Belgian Rye aged in Rye Whiskey Barrels.
What am I going back for? To try the rest – a person can only make it through so many beers…responsibility…on a Wednesday night.
The Unexpected: The artwork (the hummingbird from their patio is on our instagram), to be greeted with that face upon walking in just set the tone for the visit.
Overall Brewery Rating: 9 spades out of 10
