Earlier this week we reviewed the best local Oktoberfest beers, Docktoberfest from Dry Dock was our pick and their last batch was just canned. Now it’s time to look at the best Oktoberfest celebrations. There is no shortage of options and each one has something different to offer.
People and breweries have been celebrating all month but this Satuday is the grand finale. The single biggest celebration going on this weekend is the 47th Annual Denver Oktoberfest. It takes place in the heart of Denver, Larimer Square, offering food, beer, and a variety of entertainment including wiener dog races. Unfortunately for me what it does not offer is a taste of local breweries, the beer that will be flowing comes from the macrobreweries. It’s a great tradition in Denver and everyone should try it once but it’s not what this beer explorer is after.
Where Will You Find Me?
RiNo Oktoberfest
This fest is happening at the Rackhouse Pub in the heart of River North. It is a twenty dollar ticket that includes your mug, your first liter of beer and is a donation to the arts district.
Breweries Participating: Great Divide, Bierstadt Lagerhouse, Epic Brewing, C Squared Ciders, Ratio Beerwerks, Our Mutual Friend, Beryl’s Beer Company, Black Shirt Brewing, Zephyr Brewing, Mockery Brewing and Stem Ciders.
I haven’t tried Biersrtadt Lagerhouse, Beryl’s Beer, or Blackshirt yet – this is the perfect chance to taste them all. I will be sharing the event via Instagram Stories so check out Hard12brews on Instagram.
