Donut Panic | Beer Review

Strawberry Wit – Fiction Beer Company

Donut Panic is Fiction Beer Company’s third collaboration with Glazed and Confused. Like all of their beers this has a literary back-story, it is inspired by Douglas Adams’ The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. The story is out of this world and looking at the label for this special beer so is the donut inspired beverage.

Tagline: A Strawberry Wit reminiscent of the classic strawberry glazed donut with sprinkles.

Visual: Hazy gold with hints of orange.

Aroma: There is a strong strawberry nose but the second sniff gets you a more traditional saison backbone which has a touch of spice, pepper.

Taste: The beer starts with strawberry and is followed by what can be described as a crisp, dry and slightly tart finish. The mouthfeel is on point point, extremely smooth. The beer is enjoyable on its own but when paired with the right food, a fuller flavor explodes. I enjoyed it with a simple glazed donut which allowed the beer’s flavors to dance with the sugar.

ABV: 6.0%

Overall Beer Rating:     7.75 spades out of 10
