Our Mutual Friend Brewing Company – Brewery Review

Location: Denver, Colorado ( River North AKA RiNo)

The Scene: Our Mutual Friend wraps you in exploratory art and decor when you walk in the door. Then you are hit with classic rock, in this case ACDC (on vinyl) as you make your way to the bar. It is abstract but you feel like anyone could walk in the door and on that night I did see everyone from young professionals, to middle-aged artists and even two older retired gentlemen on the patio.

The Beer List: The list is short but sweet. There are 8 beers on tap maximizing the local ingredients the brewery gathers from around Colorado. Each sip is like getting a small taste of the city.

The Best: Wicket – a Belgian wit with tangelo zest. If a beer could define late summer nights this would be it.

What am I going back for? Feyd – a Double IPA with Citra and Centennial Hops – 10.2% ABV was too much for a Tuesday.

The Unexpected: The art. Many breweries have local artists or various art displays up in their taprooms but this modern, abstract influence was something unique.

Overall Brewery Rating:     8 spades out of 10

Bonus: Our Mutual Friend is less than two blocks away from Ratio Beerworks
