Upcoming March Events | Beer Festivals

The words winter (and spring) and beer festivals don’t often go together, particularly in Colorado where the weather can be 60 degrees one day and two feet of snow the next, but you are missing out on some great experiences if you are waiting for the warmer months. There are several great events going on next month (March) but I want to take the time to specifically talk about the two I will be attending.

Who:

Avery is hosting the 15th annual Boulder Strong Ale Fest

What:

The beer festival features beers from around the country as long as they fit two guidelines:

Above 8%

Must “represent something very special from the heart and soul of its creator.”

When:

Boulder Strong Ale Fest is March 4th, 2017 from 12-5pm

Where:

Boulder Strong Ale Fest will be held at Avery Brewing Company and they will be inviting their friends from across the country to pour beers.

Why:

There is one main reason to attend this festival, Avery brings out the best of the best and fosters an environment of pure high ABV delight. It gives you the chance to try beers that may not distribute locally and sample beers of Avery’s past. Also, all of the ticket sales go to charity so you can feel even better about spending the money.

Who:

Two Parts is hosting the 4th annual Collaboration Fest

What:

Colorado based breweries are given the opportunity to pair with two (up to five) breweries (locally, nationally and internationally) to create one of a kind beers that reflect the collaborative spirit.

When:

Collaboration Fest is March 25, 2017 from 4-7pm (unless you go VIP and get in at 3pm)

Where:

Collaboration Fest has a new home this year, it is moving from Mile High Stadium to the National Western Complex to fit more people and collaborations.

Why:

This is my favorite festival in Colorado and that is saying a lot considering the other great festivals (GABF, Brewer’s Rendezvous etc.). These beers are one-time events where brewers get to explore the limits of their creativity and push the limits of style guidelines. You also know that you are one of the few people that get to enjoy these beers and you won’t be able to get them again.
